Guided Morning Walk in Lisbon Before Web Summit
by Lena Komarova
About this event
Most of us came to Lisbon to work. The week runs from the venue to meetings, from meetings to evening events, and the city mostly stays outside the taxi window.
This is one hour to actually see it, before Thursday’s sessions begin.
We gather at 8:15 on Thursday, 12 November, at Pastelaria Saga on Largo da Graça, a neighbourhood bakery whose pastéis de nata Time Out places among the best in the city, to pick up a coffee and a pastel de nata, and set off at 8:30.
From there we walk down through old Lisbon with a local guide, stopping only where it is worth stopping: the viewpoints over Alfama and the river, the cathedral, and the arch on Rua Augusta, with time for photos rather than a long list of sights.
The pace is easy, and there is no agenda beyond the walk and whatever conversations happen along the way.
We finish at 9:30 on Praça do Comércio, a five-minute walk from the Baixa-Chiado metro, so you can be at FIL in time for the morning programme.
Capacity is limited, so registration is by approval.
Hosted by After Comma, a New York-based PR studio working with tech companies on media, podcasts, conference stages and founders’ thought leadership.
