Leadership Through Dance: Presence, Posture & Non-Verbal Communication

You walk into a room to pitch. Before you say a single word, people have already read you. Your posture. Your energy. Whether you look sure of where you are going.

In partner dance, there are no words at all. The leader has to show intention clearly with the body, and the follower has to read it and respond. Either it works or it doesn't, right there, in real time.

This interactive session, held in association with JCI Portugal, uses bachata to practise leadership skills that shape every room you walk into but rarely get taught:

Non-verbal communication: giving clear signals, and reading other people's, without a word

Posture and presence: how the way you stand and hold space changes how others respond to you

Energy projection: setting the tone, and adjusting it to the person in front of you

Leading and following: when to take initiative, when to listen, and how to move between the two

After each exercise, we connect what happened on the floor to a professional situation: a pitch, a negotiation, a team meeting, a first conversation with an investor.

No dance experience needed.

Bring your co-founder or teammates and see how you actually communicate when words are taken away. Or come alone and practise with people you have never met.

Your facilitators

Miguel and Nora are a Venezuelan-Hungarian dance couple with more than a decade of combined dance experience across styles. Their teaching is focused on connection and playfulness, combining Hungarian precision with the fun Latin vibes. Off the dance floor, Nora is a Chief of Staff in tech and a former editor-in-chief who built and led a ten-person editorial team, so the bridge between the two worlds is one she walks every day.
